Bio

Born in Buenos Aires in 1987

He studied guitar with Patricio Carpossi, Marcelo Gutfraind and Juan Pablo Arredondo, and composition with Guillermo Klein. He also studied improvisation with Rodrigo Domínguez .
He is a graduate of the Technological Institute of Contemporary Music and is finishing the Jazz Technique of the Conservatorio Superior "Manuel de Falla", directed by the pianist Ernesto Jodos.

During the last years, he has shared the stage with great musicians of the Buenos Aires scene, among them are Carto Brandán, Rodrigo Domínguez , Guillermo Klein, Julián Montauti, Sebastián Lans, Fermín Merlo, Hernán Rodríguez and Juan Presas, among others.

He currently works as a teacher in schools and privately, and is part of several projects among which the Composers Collective, the group of Guillermo Harriague, Florencia Otero and the Anonymous Big Band stand out.

In 2013 he recorded the first album of his project, “Tangram”, together with Fran Cossavella on drums, Lucas Goicoechea on alto sax and Fernando Toyos on double bass. Currently his group «Matias Suarez y los Sanavirones» is a Sextet made up of Juan Olivera on trumpet, Franco Espíndola on trombone, Lucas Goicoechea on alto sax, Leandro Zappino on bass and Nicolas Politzer on drums
